Welcome to Leger & Son

Leger and Son, Inc. sponsored a three day educational seminar beginning March 18, 2013 on the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFS) as directed in the PrimusGFS Scheme. The Primus program provides a system for food safety from the farmer’s field all the way to the consumer’s table. Greg Leger and his entire team recognize the importance of having a worldwide safe food supply and are committed to doing their part in assuring the success of this initiative. Retailers such as Walmart, Costco, Kroger and many others have made it a requirement that their suppliers participate in GFS.       Press Release

Food Safety and Traceability

Leger & Son has been committed to Food Safety and Traceability since the spring of 2008.  Partnering with HarvestMark, Leger & Son was the first to make all their watermelon's traceable.  One year later, Leger & Son was one of the first to become 100% PTI compliant.  Leger & Son has augmented their food safety program with an efficient trace back system that identifies the lot number, date of pack and pack out type on each case.

You can scan all our watermelons at www.harvestmark.com or do you have an iPhone? Please download the HarvestMark app and scan the watermelon code!
